Off-grade silicon metal, as the name implies, is unqualified silicon metal. The silicon content is around 97%. In some occasions, it is used instead of metal silicon 553.

Off-grade silicon metal uses

Everyone knows that the common metal silicon content is above 98.5%. However, in some aluminum alloy enterprises, only a small amount of silicon may be needed. Some industries do not require silicon, iron, aluminum, and calcium. Then off-grade is useful.

1. Used in the aluminum industry to produce aluminum alloy ingots.

2. Can be used in steelmaking industry. Used to replace ferrosilicon or high-purity metallic silicon.

3. Used in metallurgy, chemical and other industries. It can replace high-grade metal silicon at a lower cost.
